Derek R. King is an award-winning author and poet. He lives in Scotland, enjoys the great outdoors, long walks in the hills, and the sounds of the seas and oceans.

Derek began writing poetry in his teens and wrote the lyrics and composed music for several albums in his 20s and 30s. He went on to write an award-winning nonfiction historical biography centered around Clyde Kennard and the American Civil Rights Movement.

Among his other talents, Derek enjoys exploring art, is a musician, and a photographer. Many of Derek’s photographs can be found in several of Derek and Julie’s books.
